Online Safety for children

Over the last couple of years, education has increasingly been provided using devices like computers, laptops, tablets, or smartphones and an internet connection. There is always the potential for cybercriminals to exploit any vulnerability in the network and gain access to personal details, such as credit cards, NHS numbers, etc.

While children use technology to learn, it is the parents’/guardians’ responsibility to ensure that they, and the devices used, are kept safe.

Kumon encourages digital learning through our KUMON CONNECT App, but we are aware of potential cyber security threats so urge you to take care.

Like you, we believe keeping your child safe while studying is of the highest importance, whether online or at our study centres.

That’s why we provide full training and guidance to our expert Instructors. All our Instructors have detailed policies for safeguarding, child protection, e-safety, and the supervision of children which are specific to each centre.

For parents with children studying using KUMON CONNECT, here are some basic tips to help keep your child safe:

  • Always close down other windows before your child begins to study
  • Make sure you are happy with the security settings on your device
  • Supervise your child when they are doing their Kumon study
